ooohhh...gang sociology sounds nifty, i know i'd enjoy that!

but i've SOOOOO many books!!!!
*in a whining voice*
this week marked the kick-off for the very last full topic in my psych of religion course: ritual.
i started class with readings from my "Mentality of Apes" book by Wolfgang Kohler--the students responded with enthusiasm at the notion of proto-ritualistic dancing in chimpanzees. woot!! score!! the last two classes found that notion to have not one bit of appeal, but this class is a different story. i got so excited words were fumbling out of my mouth again and again...which only added to the hilarity, of course.
wednesday i get to start class with the topic of using "prayer beads." i've recently discovered they are used in christianity, islam, hindu, buddhism, and baha'i. the only 'major player' among religions i didn't find using them is judiasm--but i'm tempted to think that's just a glitch in my knowledge.
just wanted to say i used one of my recent purchases in class and it went swimmingly.
