The Smiths! Radiohead! The Smiths!

All about The Smiths' music, gigs, stories, anything.

Here is a link to Radiohead doing a cover of The Headmaster Ritual. Where as most smiths covers are bad (I still have nightmares about placebo and bigmouth) this one isn't.

I don't know if this is the best place for it, I wasn't sure where to post it in!

Enjoy

I am a Placebo fan and I sort of liked the Bigmouth Strikes Again cover. But then I like Brian Molko's voice a lot, so maybe that's why I like the cover a bit. It's nowhere near the original but I thought it was not bad neither.

There was a recent dance-esque cover of "Stop me if you..." which was terribly bad IMO. Worst of all was a debate on YouTube where some people honestly posted they liked the cover better

A girl I liked in the past was a devote Radiohead fan, she let me hear an album of them when I visited her and I kinda liked it. For some reason I have not checked more albums of them though, so I still don't have the feeling that I know Radiohead.

Really cool! Not amazing or anything but you get the feeling that if they tried they could make it amazing. The yodelly bit is really Thom Yorke as well, isn't it?

CP, you have to check out more Radiohead, they are definitely worth it :)

I'm not a fan of Radiohead, but their cover of "The Headmaster Ritual" is really good.

I also randomly stumbled across this youtube clip. I'm a radiohead fan on the side and loved seeing them play a Smiths track. They really nail it, but still manage to keep their own "sound". Touched me a bit to see one of my favourite bands play tribute to another.

Yeah, I've never liked radiohead, but it is cool that they covered headmaster ritual.. i hope it will perk someones interest in the smiths.

They also covered Ceremony by joy division, one of my favorite songs ever.
