Opinions on why the smiths were so successful

All about The Smiths' music, gigs, stories, anything.

Grim that was a nice post back there you wrote. (Not the recent post about the current number 2 team, hah!)

Asleep, some of the interview sounds familiar. I don't recall the one that bothers me, the one where Morrissey states how Johnny didn't get enough attention. I didn't think that was the case, wasn't it those two who got all the attention! I don't think it was Johnny's style to want to get all that attention. Who am I to say though!

Ellis, I was being goofy when I made the remark, which I still stand by, but do you still have your notes? I'd like to read them. Since you don't write music reviews anymore. Hint.

BTW ratherwalk, over the holidays I came across a book called Britpop! by John Harris, sounded like everything you would have needed for your paper. The interesting thing is that Smiths alone had a beginning chapter all to themselves, before moving into the whole Britpop scene. I should have bought it, it was the only one. Err!
