" Ganglord "

For all things concerning Moz's solo career.

So I am loving the cd version as much as I did it live....

In my opinion it shoud have DEFINITELY been included in ROTT
( maybe replacing "Dear God please help me" ).

I have the strong feeling of Luvvvvvvvvvv for this song as I have
for "Nobody loves us" : both misplaced musical masterpieces.

What is your opinion / feeling for the song ?

yeah I agree LM, But I feel his Magazine cover "a song from under the floorboards" is pish compared to how he sung it live, it's all polished & I think lacks feeling imho.

I thought the recorded version of ganglord sounded very like the live version of which I am a big fan. It was really dramatic and the music seemed superior to most of ROTT in my humble opinion.

I was a little bit disappointed at the fact it was so similar, as it's nice for their to be variation between the two. I love the fact many of Morrissey's B-sides are such gems, because, as devoted fans, we are the only ones likely to hear them, so they are gifts in my eyes.

A very good song - possibly his best ROTT b-side. However, the live version sounds ten times better than the studio version. I just feel that the studio version also sounds too polished. I suppose in that respect, the song is similar to Jack The Ripper. ;)

The studio version of Ganglord also has some rather irritating noises half-way through the song that needn't be there - and also lacks the menacing tone of the live versions. However, it is still a very decent song.

'If you don't like me, don't look at me.' I'm still struggling to get into this one, anyone else think it's not quite up to his usual top notch B-side stuff? The title is excellent but I don't think the song lives up to it imho.

I agree with Grim. Deffo not as good as some of the B-sides and very POP.
It reminds me of an earlier Moz song but for love or money I can't quite
put my finger on it.....I will get back to you about it.

Well, I am not so crazy about 'Ganglord' and I prefer 'If you don't like me, don't look at me' and 'I knew I was next'.
