favourite flower

For all things concerning Moz's solo career.

Postby patrick » Tue Dec 07, 2004 10:41 am

Hi everyone.
I want to particape in a quiz on Belgian radio to win a trip to London to see Moz at Earls Court.
I need to know what Morrissey's favourite flower is and I'm confused.

Yeah, gladioli or a nice bunch o' daffodils.

*feels like watching This Charming Man video*

Good luck with winning, I'm going to the Earl's Court gig, should be amazing!

I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
England is mine, it owes me a living
But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill...?

Envy! I did see Morrissey at the start of his tour. Though it was a better venue when I saw him, his setlist near the end of the tour had more Smiths songs that I would have loved to hear him sing. Hope it's not his last hurrah tour, as rumoured. But I've also heard he's working on new material. Good Luck Patrick!

Hehe, there's no such thing as too many Smiths songs!!

Hrm, yeah, apparently Earl's Court is pretty crap for acoustics, but I don't caaaare!! MORRISSEEEEEEEEY! *squeak*

I don't think the rumours about him retiring are true, I really don't see how they can be - would he really work so hard for seven years only to quit after his most successful album ever? More likely, would Sanctuary let him?? He can't have run out of things to say...

I don't believe it, either. The reality is that he does have a contract obligation to Sanctuary. Yes, after 7 years' absence, I don't see it happening. He's at the top right now, more than ever in his career. But I did read he never wanted to become an 'aging rockstar'. Fine by me, though!

Yeah, I heard that too. It's based on 'Get Off The Stage', isn't it? The thing is, Quarry (presumably the new direction he's heading in), isn't really all that rock-y, so it's not like he's trying to be Ozzy Osbourne or Robert Smith (I do really like early Cure stuff, but you can't have the same look when you're 45 that you had in your early 20's, it just doesn't work!) - he's growing old gracefully, and more power to him! <!--emo&B)-->Image<!--endemo-->

We need you, Morrissey!!!!

I agree. I love Quarry, but do miss some of his 'heavier' stuff. He could pull it off, but not when you consistently wear Gucci shirts and suits in concert, though he looks great in them <!--emo&:P-->Image<!--endemo--> I like the pictures on his official site of him (where he's in London playing football with the band), with jeans and trainers. He looks far from 45. So it's how you put the package together. I don't think Robert Smiths looks good at all now. And it has nothing to do with aging! It's not that I can't appreciate the look, the hair just looks like a bird's nest. It was never than unkempt before in years past and his clothing looks passe. Then there's Bono, who despite wearing too much leather, has aged okay. (Well, maybe he could lighten up on the greased hair look <!--emo&-->Image<!--endemo--> )
