New album cover ??

For all things concerning Moz's solo career.

New album cover ??

Postby Lorimoz » Fri Aug 22, 2008 9:00 am

Rumours are going round that this photo might be the cover for YOR.

I like it but I can see it on a cover of a magazine or as an inner sleeve,
not as the cd cover.
We have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts ?? :?:

Honestly that it a remarkably creepy picture and it doesn't seem like cover material
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

So apparently it is- hm... I have read some ideas as to why he chose to make it that, but honestly- it seems to make a strange logical sense. Years of refusal- of what? That. Being a guy in a stereotypically masculine pose with the baby he produced- aren't those all just things he has refused to do? A person he has refused to become?

Baby he produced? :o Have I missed on some important news during my short absency??

Anyways, his private life does not matter to me, and neither does a sleeve pic, the music is what matters. But well, since opinions are asked, I think this picture is terrible. I hate to say it about a man I greatly respect, but the picture is just terrible. Not the idea behind it, not the pose, but it is just uninspirational, nothing artistic ... could have been any random person posing with any random baby. Nothing special, nothing artistic, he could have just as well chosen a picture of him lawn mowing or so ... I don't like it at all, not because of the picture itself but just because it lacks the creativity and artistical aspect that the covers of some earlier work had. But anyways, if the music is goes then I guess we can easily forgive him this minor mistake ...

The baby pictured with Morrissey on the cover of Years of Refusal is Sebastien Pesel-Browne, who is the son of Charlie Browne, who has been Morrissey's Assistant Tour Manager for many years. Sebastien's mother (Susan) met Charlie at a Morrissey concert in Boston.

As you said, CP, let's hope the album rocks ! Music is the important thing .

Ah OK, I thought for a moment Moz had strayed away from celibacy and had, well you know what I mean with a woman :D

It appears to be the actual CD cover allright, even his official MySpace profile has the picture now.

It's one of the strangest covers I have ever seen along with Black Grape's "It's Great When You're Straight... Yeah" and Nirvana's "Nevermind".
