Ringleader Of The Tormentors

For all things concerning Moz's solo career.

Well, it's sort of the run-up to the release now, and so this is the official designated RotT thread...

Doesn't look like a record cover to me, though perhaps that's cause it was used as tour promo as well...

I really like the cover.
Names, secret names. But never in my favour.

Leather elbows on a tweed coat

a little bird told me the other day that El Mozzah was spotted in London applying for an American work visa, so it looks like he will be working in America soon!

Some dates in the southwest are appearing. And one cancellation already! It's exciting to see the dates for the tour unfold day by day! He's slated to appear at the SxSW festival in Texas, huge! I think this will give him some much needed publicity over here.

I think this may be his greatest album yet.

As soon as Amazon has the CD+DVD version available, I'll be preordering this.

Dont understand the dislike of the songs leaked.

Ive heard 'I Will See You in Far Off Places', 'Dear God, Please Help Me', and 90 seconds of 'You Have Killed Me'. All sound good to me, though 'I Will See You...' is a big departure from what we usually expect from Mozz, musically, that much is true.

Dear God is a wonderfully beautiful song though, and quite complex too I think. Although ive only heard a minute of 'You Have Killed Me', I thought it was very catchy.

I guess they will grow on some people, but im disapointed with the amount of fans who havent really taken to the leaked songs (going off here and M-Solo), I want to enjoy it of course, but I also want others to enjoy it.

It doesnt really come close to his Smiths stuff but not much of his solo stuff has, he's tried different things musically and lyrically since, which I think is admirable and pretty brave.

Anyway, hope the songs grow on people!

I agree with you BSA, but I think the initial disappointment was that in the hype it has been claimed that this new l.p. will be so different etc etc, so far to me it's a Maladjusted pt2, but I love Maladjusted so I'm over the moon with it anyway.

On the tour front do you think he'll play any songs from Quarry? I'd hazzard Irish Blood will be the only one tbh?

I'm still digging for Whitehaven tix if anyone has spares, will swap any of the other gigs for them.

love

Grim
