Another Ringleaders Review

For all things concerning Moz's solo career.

"Typically, Morrissey has expressed his anger, his disappointment, and his disgust via the biting cynicism of his self-pitying lyrics. On Ringleader of the Tormenters, however, the full range of his emotions fully seeps into his music. Throughout the set, he, guitarist Jesse Tobias, and producer Tony Visconti parlay the dense layers of sound that they concocted into a weirdly aggressive aural assault."

I'm not sure what's so weird about it, but overall , it's a decent review.

Seems about right, says pretty much the standard stuff. My favourite review so far has been this one. I know a lot of people have a lot of bad stuff to say about Pitchfork, but it's well written and pretty fair in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum, by the way :)

I love Pitchfork and only a few times have I thought the reviews rambled on and on without point. This is one of a handful I've read, there are just so many reviews of ROTT I never got around to reading.

I love what was said about YATQ, "...televised car-chase production...", how descriptive!

It is well-written, and I do think they are fair. My problem with Pitchfork, though, is that the people who write for it are too self-important. Most of the reviews just reek of it.
