He's been playing with them on the NME tour as well. How many bands does he want?

Oh dear. I completely agree with you!
I just saw this yesterday along with a 20-sec clip of a brief jam backstage http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=10&title=johnny_marr_and_the_cribs_jamming_backst&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
I remember thinking how uninvolved he seemed, just going through the motions, a little unfair to say based on 20 secs. But I was actually watching Jarman play.

What bands is he in now officially? The Healers, Modest Mouse, The Cribs? Or are The Healers and Modest Mouse on a hiatus now that he is doing work with The Cribs?

All of the above!!
Who knows, I think officially he is still part of Modest Mouse, though I read there is a Healers album he intends to put out in the near future. He's only collaborating with the Cribs, (which I also read he considers the best band in Britain atm. I've never heard their stuff, guess I'll have to explore, based on that bit of info.)

Heard "I'm A Realist" by The Cribs feat. Johnny a couple of weeks ago. Sounds really great.
