Andy Rourke

What have the rhythm section been up to since The Smiths?

'Learn Guitar with a Smiths Legend'
Seems he's doing a little civic duty (with pay of course) and teaching guitar lessons. Since it's for younger kids, I wonder how many of them would know of him or The Smiths. The parents I suppose! Wonder what Johnny would think.

Considering he taught Johnny the basics, it could be well worth the money!

Why don't I remember that? Seems an important detail not to forget.

Why not? Worth a few quid of anyone's money, I should think.

I met Joyce and Rourke at a gig a couple of months back, got them to sign my 'TQID' cd and Smiths t shirt - Joyce is a really cool guy.

Welcome HandsomeDevil. Where'd you meet them? Was it with Vinny Peculiar? Or a DJ gig? I have a prized DIY t-shirt which they both signed, while I was wearing it Image (I know, I do go on about it fellow members, sorry Image) Joyce is cool, shame about the group's history.

Yeah I met them before they went on at a Vinny Peculiar gig in Liverpool about a month or so ago.
I was shaking after it because it was amazing to be talking to former members of the greatest english band of all time.

How was the gig? I haven't really read anything from a fan's perspective on the gigs and I'm hoping to hear good things. Vinny seems like a good person, I love reading the entries in his diary on his site, very entertaining, along with reading the process of putting a record together.

So Andy is writing a book as well. There's an article in Bass Player magazine. Finally some information on how he writes his parts. It's short and informative. For those who doubt his importance with The Smiths...

he can actually write a riff

That's a pretty nice interview. I always thought they got a session player to play cello, I'm sure they did on 'Pretty Girls Make Graves'.
