If I had to chose just one video, it would be 'Thirty Three' of The Smashing Pumpkins.
Please take a look and tell me what do you think about it.

All Is Full of Love - Bjork
In fact, anything directed by Chris Cunningham is pretty much genius.

here's a nusrat fateh ali khan, made shortly before his demise, popular in dance clubs. beautiful dreamy images and his silky velvet angel fire voice

and a bit of eddie vedder, doing "the face of love" from the "dead men walking" soundtrack. originally recorded with nusrat, but this live version is with one of nusrat's nephews. i love watching eddie just grin and grin at the singing.

and something completely different: kazakhstan music. i really groove on the images in this, nice little story and some catchy dombra playing. hello central Asia!!

hey, I know this one - we use to have MTV Asia and they were playing it there all the time. Back in the 90ties it used to play a lot of Asian music of various kinds - don't know how it is now, considering the sad state of the MTV network (the money television, as we all know)

woo hoo!!
he started 'modernizing' his music later in his career (apparently listening to madonna was a part of this transformation, seriously!!). another he did around that time was Dam Mast Qalandar Mast Mast not necessarily a great video, but a great tune.

(yesterday morning and most the afternoon i spent getting high on international music)
some of that kazakh music is really quite something, but i just had to post the one above because of the imagery....totally love that kind of stuff. (i spent about six years obsessed with shamanism and read everything i could find on it.)

Poor Alice...
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

ALPHAVILLE - Big in Japan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXPUkrz7Uow

I can't help but that girl in this video is beautiful beyond compare. Her face and especially her eyes are entrancing. A goddess! I am sure the ladies will also rate the singer (Marian Gold) high but that is just a detail. Gorgeous woman  The song is also very nice although I am not sure what the lyrics are about.

Anyway, I am back off to enjoy the Turkish delights here in Istanbul!

Are you really that sure ;) ? :P
He looks as if he's secretly taken his big brother's clothes

but the girl is wonderful, i agree.

and the video is fun.
the song is allegedly about drugs - and waiting your dealer, and it's easy to get them, because you're big in japan...

I never made the connection with drugs before, but after reading your explanation and then re-reading the lyrics, I think you're spot on Ruby. That would also explain the "I will wait here for my man tonight" (man = his dealer).

Guano Apes have a very interesting cover of this cover, totally different from the original although I do prefer the original.

And that girl is a true goddess. If only I would run into a woman like that... that face is pure perfection...

Blur's To the End, Charmless Man, The Universal, Beetlebum, Parklife etc.
Novocaine for the Soul by Eels
Weezer's Buddy Holly
The Smiths' How Soon Is Now?
Radiohead's Street Spirit

and I've never really liked U2, but "Window to the Sky" is a very enjoyable montage of glorious gig moments. Watch out for Morrissey, he's there too!
