Presuming, you are listening to something, what is it?
I'll start:

Ding Dong - Nellie McKay

Heard it on Jools Holland, thought it was great, have to say that it was better live, but still good.

So what are you listening to?

First Of The Gang To Die from Glasto. I've been on a major downloading spree with my shiny new broadband, so I've got all the videos from Glastonbury, which is actually what this is. This song is just so good live, it's amazing! I got the TOTP performance of William... too, you know, the one with "Marry Me" scrawled on his chest. It's so cool! <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo-->

"He stole all hearts a-way-ha-hay-ha-hay-ha-haaaay..."

OOH, MORRISSEY'S BEEN PLAYING BIGMOUTH RECENTLY!! Fingers crossed that he does that and How Soon Is Now in Dec, that would just be too good!

I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
England is mine, it owes me a living
But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill...?

Some Postman- Presidents of the United States of America
The new album just isn't the same, but this song still rocks! Congrats on your broadband, Girl Afraid!

Meat Is Murder. And also the keys clacking cos I'm doing History homework. Or should be. *sigh*

I still haven't had any luck tracking down the Nellie McKay song, Elko. <!--emo&-->Image<!--endemo-->

At the risk of sounding delibrately obscure (I'm not trying to be, honest), it's The Navy Song, from Crimson Tyde by The Russian Red Army Choir <!--emo&:o-->Image<!--endemo-->

IF I could get a connection (damn streaming thing never works when I want it to) I'd be listening to 6 Music right now. The Trashcans are featured as Album of the Day today. Want to know what will be said about the tracks <!--emo&:(-->Image<!--endemo--> You learn something new every day! Just got smart enough to use a different internet browser and voila! Now I can check out things like Dream Ticket! Now I've got to run, I'll have to pop on my Trashees on the go and THAT's what I'll be listening to!

I took some ideas on what kind of music to check out from this forum <!--emo&:)-->Image<!--endemo--> I am listening to Belle & Sabastian right now... brilliant! Like Dylan In The Movies is an AMAZING song!!! I was listening to Echo and the Bunnymen earlier <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo--> Do you guys have any other wonderful bands hiding up your sleeves(?) being that (if only for the fact that you frequent this site) you all have superb musical taste!

I'm listening to She Said She Said by The Beatles. I love Revolver <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo-->

Um, good bands? Let me seee... Well, Radiohead are very good, The Bends, Fake Plastic Trees, Sit Down. Stand Up, My Iron Lung, Knives Out, Street Spirit, High and Dry, Electioneering, and Just especially.

The Killers also rock an amazingly large amount, but you might have already heard of them. Oh, and The Cure are also a great band, despite Morrissey and Robert Smith's mutual hatred of eachother... Recommended tracks: Lovecats, Lovesong, Killing an Arab, 10:15 Saturday Night, Boys Don't Cry, and In Between Days.

The Ramones too, I went on a Ramones downloading spree last night, Judy Is A Punk and Blitzkreig Bop are cool <!--emo&:)-->Image<!--endemo-->

OOH, and Jeff Buckley!! I love Jeff! Grace, Last Goodbye, Lilac Wine, So Real, Mojo Pin, Lover You Should've Come Over... Agh, every Jeff song is amazing! There's a really good live version of Hallelujah, where he segues into I Know It's Over near the end. And he covered The Boy With The Thorn In His Side live (as did Belle and Sebastian!), and it's one of the few good Smiths covers I've heard.

Whenever I list good bands I always forget about half a million, but a few that you really should hear (along with their best album) are Gorky's Zygotic Mynci (Barafundle), The Fall (50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong), British Sea Power (The Decline Of...), Suede (eponymous), and Wilco (A Ghost Is Born).
Right now I'm listening to Teenage Fanclub (a cover of Here Comes Your Man) who are also pretty cool.

I am listening to Sigur Rós - Olsen Olsen <!--emo&:)-->Image<!--endemo-->
Yes, we may be hidden by rags
But we have something they'll never have
And if the people stare
Then, the people stare
Oh I really don't know
And I really don't care

Yes they are probably my favourite band <!--emo&:)-->Image<!--endemo--> I've seen them twice, and both experiences were just magical. I can't wait for the next time! <!--emo&:(-->Image<!--endemo-->

"Through With Her" by The Cockroaches just ended.
Now it's The Cockroaches' cover of "Empty Heart" by the Rolling Stones.

Hey Girl Afraid, glad you accidentally stumbled upon the Trashcans. They came and left the U.S. after their newest release without any fanfare. They're touring the U.K. right now, hope they're getting more attention then they did here. (But they have a big fan base over here). Hope you get a chance to check their other stuff out... I'm thinking of getting the Clash's remastered London Calling. Would like to have the documentary/footage that's included. How about you?

Yeah, it would be really cool to have the extra stuff, but I can't really afford it at the moment and I only got the original album not very long ago... Oh well, if you do get it, tell me what it's like <!--emo&:)-->Image<!--endemo-->

I'm listening to The Naked Ride Home by Jackson Browne to prepare me for the concert tonight <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo-->
