Truman's music :)
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

DJ Sammy - Boys of summer

Yeah I know, generally those dance esque versions of old eighties songs stink ... I dont know why but this one somehow I like. And I dont even like dance music generally. But this track just has something melancholic and romantic, like taking you to a far away idyllic beach on a hot summer night, problems far away ... I dont want to compare with the original by Don Henley but I must admit I quite like this cover.

LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT - Shatter

I rather slit my wrists and risk discovery of hell
than to stay one more moment here where certain devils dwell
No not again, never again, I will never trust no one again...
You did it again, yes you in the mirror, you put your faith in a cruel world
All my dead friends come to haunt, harm and hinder
Never letting go, here to drag me down to hell

I dont know why but I feel so much related to those lyrics.

I went to Poland a while ago to see LAM live, 10 hours on the train and 10 hours back and 35 hours without sleep... But also my first backstage experience in my life. Sean, the vocalist, is an amazingly friendly person and a very talented musician. His more political songs are very interesting lyrics-wise as well.

still London After Midnight ... Damn, I begin to get seriously overdosed on their music. But well, I guess passion for a specific artist you respect can not be a bad thing.

A recommendation of mine for all of you: WOLFSHEIM - Kunstliche Welten. A great song about escapism into your dreams, into a world without problems where only your truth and being your true self is important. It has an autistic feeling, and it is fantastically sung. Browse it on YouTube NOW!! The song is sung in German, but I can translate if anyone is curious.

I gave them a listen, CP, but I had no idea what they were saying so I think that most of the meaning was lost on me. Neat though!

As for meeee- I wake up every day to My Early Burglary Years... and sometimes I just keep playing the album over and again, sometimes, like this time.

the killing moon - echo and the bunnymen.
(i recently bought "ocean rain" on the recommendation of a work colleague, mark, who is absolutely awesome :D we've been mates from the start anyway (i started working with him about 4 months ago), and then a couple of months ago i wore a morrissey t-shirt to a work social - mark wasn't there, but the next day everyone was talking about the social and he heard about it, so he asked me if i was a moz fan. of course i said yes, and he said he was a fan too, and ever since then we've been talking about music at every possible opportunity )

Helen, I'm a little surprised you didn't have Ocean Rain before!! (echo and his bunnies have received a fair share of attention here) Good for Mark getting you to pick it up. I adore the title track from that disc.

Right now: Huun Huur Tu singing "Deke-Jo" (I've not a clue what it's about as I don't speak the language, but that's becoming almost standard for me anymore :P )

Ocean Rain, my favourite album of all time. That album is pure perfection, from the first to the last second, with the title track and also My Kingdom and Nocturnal Me as absolute highlights. To make the perfection even more perfect, the sleeve cover is so magically inspiring... If perfection exists in music, Echo and the Bunnymen have achieved it. Best band ever IMO. They perform the album with orchestra in their home town soon, damn shortage of money and expensive flights :x I so much would love to be there...

I listen to London After Midnight - Letter to God

I have been very addicted to the Psycho Magnet album for a while now, especially the tracks Where Good Girls Go To Die and Shatter. But gonna put on some older LAM work on next, "Claires Horrors"!

I've tried to figure out how to embed this clip, but I find myself lacking in geek skills :P

Just watch this guy...me reminds me of a lot of people on this forum:

click on the "watch now" thingy...
track three just amazes me.

If you fish around on that website, you can find a similar video by "Dr. Dog"...it's good time, particularly the third track.

So I've been goofy in my music lately, in a transition phase (for those who know me).
How about some classical music played on traditional shamisen?

How about the stoner American shamisen-guy doing classic rock?

only the intarweb tubes can give me this craziness, i love it!
