Listening to The Divine Comedy - Something For The Weekend

And browsing CNN, BBC, FOX and portuguese radiostation TSF website like a maniac.
Yes, we may be hidden by rags
But we have something they'll never have
And if the people stare
Then, the people stare
Oh I really don't know
And I really don't care

Pretty Girls Make Graves from this Smiths at the Beeb thing I found. SO cool! It's basically loads of early tracks and Peel sessions interspersed with this guy talking about them and soundclips from Morrissey, Johnny, John Peel, David Jensen etc. <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo-->

I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
England is mine, it owes me a living
But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill...?

Oh, Mogwai, my friend likes them, but I haven't heard any of their stuff really. What are they like?

I got Antmusic by Adam & the Ants the other day, but I'm listening to Sweet Lovin' Man by the Magnetic Fields (thank you, Elko!). God, they're/he's so good!

Mogwai are pretty good, I've seen them live at All Tomorrows Parties in Camber Sands a couple of times now.

Big up to The Magnetic Fields n'all. Fantastic band.

Yeh, I'd heard of that t-shirt. Also I remember the album Happy Songs For Happy People being recommended, but I have never heard it.

Cake- You Turn The Screws. May I say that this band does a good bit of annoying music, but there are soooo many absolute gems!
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

Oooh, Cake! Cake are a great band (from what I've heard anyway)! I love their covers of random songs, like Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, and I Will Survive. I've only heard a few of their own original songs, but what I have heard, I like. I didn't at first, I thought it was a bit weird, but it grew on me a lot. <!--emo&:)-->Image<!--endemo-->

#9 Dream - John Lennon. Haven't heard this song possibly nine or ten years, but I've liked it.

Right now I'm listening to a band called Strangelove, and was wondering whether anyone has heard of them. They split up in about '98 I think, but anyway, my second cousin was in them, and though I haven't seen him for maybe two years, I saw his parents the other day and it inspired my to give them another listen. Anyway they're quite good, if not spectacular.

I've heard of Strangelove. Never actually heard their music but I'm familiar with the band.

At this very moment I'm listening to Rubber Ring by... you know who. Heard it just the other day and can't get enough of it!
And also to the new one by Gwen Stefani - Rich Girl; a bit silly but fun.
