Name rings a bell. Didn't they do "Groove is in the heart"? Classic dancefloor filler.

I miss the eighties and nineties music. Music is so daft nowadays :(

Great performance by Maynard!

Yeah, thats another great track. As for music being dumb nowadays I'll have to disagree with. For instance, check this out (Bit of a retro feel too)

I listen to A PERFECT CIRCLE again: The Hollow

After 2 years of demanding the track in lot of rock bars, finally the DJ played it yesterday. The riffs sound even more intense with those loud boxes, and Maynard's vocals are beyond beautiful, especially the desperation when he sings "Screaming feed me!" and "temporarily pascifying".

By the way Boxguy, check your email, it is about A Perfect Circle

Guilty pleasure again...

BON JOVI - Always

Been listening to "Sometimes" by Erasure as well shortly before. It is weird how those simple love songs sound daft and cliche on normal days, then you're in love yourself and you suddenly feel like those lyrics make sense... Like "I just couldn't wait to see me cling my arms around you" sounds quite daft really, until you're in love yourself and then suddenly the lyric sounds a lot less cliche and daft all at once.

Well, it's still a guilty pleasure I guess. :)

I have been listening to *sooooo* much Clash this last week or so- I'm trying to wean myself off it with some Iggy though :P
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

Check the Levellers. You will love them. True punk spirit both lyrically and musically, but also great irish influences with fiddles and violins! 8)

Their most epic song, a true anthem of the Celtic Punk movement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XScq7NLRnYU

As I said: when you are having the butterflies in your stomach for a girl, suddenly those cheesy lovesongs make a lot more sense. It is like that Erasure song "Sometimes". Sounds really cliche and cheesy often, but then you're in love and a lyric like "I just couldn't wait to see me cling my arms around you" suddenly sounds a lot less cliche. Guess being in love makes one a bit cheesy in a way :)
