I should really hate dance music, but this has such a catchy tune, and definitely with this boiling hot summer weather it's hard to resist this sort of song... Nice girl as well in that video

And another guilty pleasure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25vc3N5LS2U by the Two Brothers On The Fourth Floor

Worst guilty pleasure possible: "I think we're alone now" by Tiffany : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPx2c8WdUD4 :D

I had a huge crush on Tiffany  And I can tell why ;)

Tiffany lives in my neighborhood! My mom had seen her a couple times.

anyway, my guilty pleasure is "chains of love" by Erasure

Is she still all hot looking?

I wouldn't know, I haven't actually seen her but my mom said she looks exactly the same, just older.

She is still good looking, more mature, but definitely hot - I saw her in Playboy magazine two years ago.
And this hit of hers, I was really surprised to discover it was originally a song by post-punk artist Lene Lovich, and it were not intended to sound like a sleazy pop song...it really surprised me, it has such a 'sleazy pop' feeling to it :P
The original is cooler though.
(and of course, there is i Think I'm A Clone Now by Weird Al Yankovich ....
And Erasure - is it a guilty pleasure liking them? I do enjoy quite a few of their songs, especially Oh L'Amour, Ship of Fools, Blue Savannah, Respect, Love To Hate You...

Did Tiffany pose for Playboy? never knew that. Pity I missed it  :D

Erasure is kinda a guilty pleasure I guess. But I do like some of their songs as well, and even the ABBA-esque EP was something I kinda liked. My first record ever bought even!

Weird Al Yankovic is great! His parody on "Pretty fly for a white guy" is superb:

So how about you? Have you seen this Jew?
Reads the Tora and does his own accounting too
Working like a dog at the synagogue
He's there all day, he's there all day
...

Give it to me baby
aha aha
And all the goyem say I'm pretty fly for a rabbi!

My guilty pleasure is early morning sunlight on a classic novel-- all things are just better in the sunlight, reading, studying, sleeping, talking, ice cream, exercise...you get the point, and the beautiful thing about classic novels is that all of the bad books from hundreds of years ago are already gone wheareas the bad books of today are still being written.

Oh dear goodness-- my co-workers played that CD ALL SUMMER in the dishroom... I didn't like them when they were popular, I still don't like their area of work, but now I know all of the words to a good chunk of their big CD...

Did anyone hear that Swedish song "Boten Anna" by Basshunter? It's a dance song about 'geek culture'. The lyrical theme is a guy who is constantly chatting in an IRC channel and thinks he's speaking to a bot, then he finds out the bot is in fact are really existing cute girl, but he has his mind so much set on that bot that he cannot really adapt to knowing she's a real person...

I know, silly theme, but all summer songs are somewhat worthless when it come to deep meanings. But the song has something catchy, it just keeps on reverberating in your head  It hit the nr 1 spots in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Holland, and apparently Swedish tourists have spread it all over Greece and Italy as well...

The last couple of days I sort of re-discovered Ace of Base. I first got into them when I was 12 or 13 years old, which of course seems ages ago now that I'm 26. But surprisingly enough their music still pleases me, I know I should really not listen to "meaningless" pop and dance tunes, but what the heck, their music takes me back to the worryless old days and makes me smile :)

We live in a free world, I whistle down the wind. Carry on smiling and the world will smile with you!

They are working on a new album and will undertake a world tour after New Year. Would I dare to show up at a concert? I should really act my age, but on the other hand it seems great fun to re-experience those childhood memories
