Self indulgently artsy movies- I enjoy them immensely even if its just for the laughing factor.

when i read that, the first thing that came into my head was derek jarman's "sebastian" - i've never seen it but i saw a clip of it on the TV show "room 101" and i thought it was very unintentionally funny. is that the sort of thing you had in mind? :)

Damn. I have been playing Erasure for three days in a row now. This must be my worst guilty pleasure of them all. But I don't know, there is something so catchy about it, and you can say what you want but Andy Bell is a great vocalist.

This track has been in my CD player numerous times today:

and this video is just brilliant in all its kitsch:

Un Chien Andalou
Hero (sorry, but no matter how good of a film it is, it is self indulgently artsy)
Naked Lunch (haven't seen it in a while...)
Paris, je t'aime (come on, admit it! You know its true, don't you?)

... you know the type :-P

Not at all! The man is a legend, and so are the Stooges. Iggy was groundbreaking, and his album The Idiot even went way beyond the punk genre he is usually linked to. Iggy Pop is quality, nothing to be ashamed of liking!

Those who want to admit and enjoy some more guilty pleasures: Yazoo (or Yaz as they were named in the States) are doing a short reunion tour.

Vince Clark is like involved in all guilty pleasure bands in the dance scene... Erasure, Yazoo, and the early Depeche Mode. Well, to be honest, Erasure and Yazoo are quite enjoyable

Iggy Pop changed my young life in his strange, psychotic way. He is a legend--- and quite a guilty pleasure in the purest form.

Anyone else disagree with "Guilty Pleasures" as a concept? Why should I feel guilty for liking a certain band/song?

True. Nobody ever should. If you like a song, just listen to it, regardless of the tags people like to use.
