They've just announced that their playing five dates in Ireland so I thought it appropiate to create a thread for them (Playing in Dundalk of all places). Their on a European tour so look out for them. Steve malkmus of Pavement is a sometime member and played on their greatest album American Water (A masterpiece). Their music is kinda Alt. Country and the lyrics have to be heard to be believed (Lead singer Dave Berman is also an accomplished poet). If ye like John Steinbeck or Bukowski you will simply love this band.

American Water is all I have heard. It is really fantastic. I have meant to find more for a while. Lyrically just amazing.

The last album they released Tanglwood numbers is really worth checking out. Music wise, I don't thinks it's as good as American Water (Less Stephen Malkmus on this record I think) but as usual, outsanding lyrics from Berman. The first album is also worth checking out. I didn't really like the fourth album, Bright Flight, But I suppose I didn't really give it a chance. It just sounded like typical, dreary country ballads. Maybe I'll like it more when I'm older (Though there is a fantastic track on it called Lets Not And Say We Did)
