Er, wasn't thinking about internet forums and their politics when I wrote that one, didn't know about them back in the day when I taped "The Bends" off a friends CD. <!--emo&-->Image<!--endemo--> I love that tape but for some reason have never felt inclined to find out the song titles... So what's the name of the first song on "The Bends" then? "Vacant" is the only word I could make out from the chorus--if I made it out correctly!

Since you're a big fan, though, maybe you can give me a take on the meaning of "Just"? I've always wondered if Yorke was addressing the chorus to himself or another person. Love it either way, anyway.

Ones to get 'goose bumps' to are IMO

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Sylvian / Sakamoto - Forbidden Colours
McCulloch - Start Again

well im pretty sure that it was probably inspired by Yorke's own experience. However it can be addressed to anyone really theres no real connection to any particular person, just someone who seems to screw up and believes that everything goes against them and noone else when in fact its totally thier own fault.
Thats a pretty basic interpretation but i think it is a pretty basic song in meaning overall
