Yeah sounds like a good idea to me.
Might be best to post addresses in the mebers bar though, just to avoid spam.

In my view, it would work best if one person kept all the addresses, and each month say, gave everyone a different address to post their mixtape to.

Just in case no-one knows what a mixtape swap involves, it's basically a way of sharing each others musical tastes by one member sending a CD or tape (I'm not sure which in this case) to another member every month.

If there's anything anyone doesn't understand I'm sure ACD can explain, or even myself.

So, sort of like an imix on iTunes where you put your own playlist together? It'd be a great way to share musical tastes, as well as introduce songs never heard before. Great idea. Although, I'm guessing to post across to the U.K. from here in the U.S. could get costly after awhile.

Well, it's done on a couple of forums I'm on (I co-run the mixtape swap on one of them), one is highly transatlantic, and the other has a member from Malta.

Basically it's up to you, as for us it would only be one more expensive posting, whereas for you it would be probably everyweek, unless a couple of the other American members were to participate.

This is quite embarrasing...

I can't actually get involved with this for a while as I'm skint. However if you want to go ahead without me? It's a bit embarrasing as I did suggest it, But if you want everyone can put their names down who wants to get involved, and I can pull the names out of a hat? I have a nice hat. And then i can PM everyone the address they send thier mixtape to.

OR

Everyone can put down a rough guide to what's going to be on their mixtape and if people are interested they can request it off them. However this is not a fair as there might be people left out who won't get to make a mixtape at all.

Don't worry Alabaster. Those are valid concerns. I live a long way away from most of you over here! Anyway, I started reading Bowlie.com's mixtape thread. Theirs seems somewhat complicated, or intricate at the very leasst! Anyway, still looking around for some input on this.

Are you on Bowlie, by any chance? I was thinking of joining their mixtape swap.

I got my first CD from the mixtape swap I'm involved in two days ago, and wow, an hour's worth of.....trance! YEY!
