My friend is into rather strange Black Metal, where a lead singer of a band, slit his wrists then got someone to shoot him in the head for the album cover, I don't even WANT to find the picture for it!

The Smiths, Louder than Bombs (not sure why I like it more than the others, but it has always appealed)
David Bowie, Young Americans
Kate Bush, Never for ever
Prince, Sign o' the times
Echo and the Bunnymen, Heaven up here
