Well at least it's not a 'best of the year' one.

Save one or two, I'm stuck in the past:

British Sea Power - Open Season
The Cars - Candy-O
The Smiths - Louder Than Bombs
The Smiths - Meat Is Murder
Trashcan Sinatras - Weightlifting
Roxy Music - Avalon
Psychedelic Furs - Forever Now
R.E.M. - Eponymous
The Go-Betweens - Bellavista Terrace
Orange Juice - Very Best Of
Morrissey - Vauxhall & I

I may have to sneak in:
Talking Heads - 77
Echo & The Bunnymen - Self-Titled (on the strength of All My Life alone, for me!)
The Shins - Oh, Inverted World
TCS - I've Seen Everything

these aren't in order, that would be impossible:

The Smiths - The Smiths
The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
Manics - The Holy Bible
Morrissey - Bona Drag
Belle And Sebastian - Tigermilk
Bright Eyes - Digital Ash In A Digital Urn
The Clash - Combat Rock
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
Joy Division - Unkwon Pleasures

hmm one more, i may have to go for another Belle and Sebastian, let's say Gte Me Away From Here I'm Dying <!--emo&:D-->Image<!--endemo-->

I also would like to have Manics - Gold Against The Soul in there, but 11 is better than i thought it would be haha
Eligible, not too stupid,
intelligible and cute as cupid,
knowledgeable,but not always right
salvageable, and free for the night.

I'd have to agree with adding gold against the soul. 'from despair to where' is in my opinion probably the best song ever written by anyone if I had to pick just one, much as I love the Smiths. 'There's nothing nice in my head, the adult world took it all away' what a line.

re: doolittle by the pixies. i first heard the pixies just before doolittle came out, so i cut my pixie teeth on surfer rosa. that music redefined music for me. not long after, doolittle came out and i immediately purchasted it on vinyl. i still have that, and the bonus picture booklet insert <!--emo&;)-->Image<!--endemo--> . the singles that are available from the studio recordings have some spectacular songs....might be worth your while.

re: jeff buckley. i believe this is the first time i've seen that name on this forum. thank you!! both jeff and his father, tim are amazing, and equally tragic. the brighter the light, the quicker it burns.

a friend sent me a live jeff buckley doing nusrat fateh ali khan once, and it is among my more treasured musical gems.

great selections, thischarminggirl, great <!--emo&:guitar:-->Image<!--endemo--> <!--emo&:guitar:-->Image<!--endemo-->
