YAY!!!! ED HARCOURT! Someone else who's heard of him! That reminds me, I bought his new album, Strangers, a few weeks ago. It's not his best album, I'd say that was Monsters, but it is still insanely good.

Countingcrows, are you seeing him on tour in October at all? 31st, Portsmouth Guildhall, me, yay! He's a Moz fan... might try and use my insider knowledge to squirm my way backstage. Or something.

Anyway, I got Depeche Mode - The Singles 86>98 today, only £6.99. Gotta love HMV sales.

I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
England is mine, it owes me a living
But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill...?

I bought Dropkick Murphys' "Blackout" which I had in my computer taken from the internet.
And I also bought Divine Comedy's "Regeneration", which I had also heard before and, unfortunately, I believe it's their worst album.
Yes, we may be hidden by rags
But we have something they'll never have
And if the people stare
Then, the people stare
Oh I really don't know
And I really don't care

Dropkick Murphys....GOOD CHOICE!
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"

Being poor is awful, but I just found out that EMA has been going into my bank, so there's £330 I didn't know I had. Hence a visit to town and the following albums:

Dear Catastrophe Waitress - B & S
AWCMON/NOYOUCMON - Lambchop
Double Nickels On The Dime - The Minutemen
Seamonsters - The Wedding Present

YOU DIDN'T HAVE DEAR CATASTROPHE WAITRESS??!! *shock*

My birthday present from my friend finally came (over 2 months late) - Desertshore by Nico. YAY! It is an incredible album, so of the tracks are a bit obscure on the first listen, but others are absolutely breathtaking. Oh, it's so good. Hurrah for German Gothica!

Indeed. Of the albums, so far the Young Marble Giants is the most interesting, they are so fascinating. I think the word I would use to describe them would be 'twee'. And welsh.

Err, yes. And great. The album works really well because they were quite a minimalist band, so they work well live. Most of the live songs are faithful to the studio versions. The only complaint is the crowd seem very unappreciative. But ethn bearing in mind they were only around for a year or so, and that the show was in New York, maybe it's not suprising.

I love minimalism. I don't think there's enough of it, personally.
