Why did Gannon sue?

Just reading a bit about the Smiths and saw that Craig Gannon sued The Smiths and won, doesnt say why he sued them though.

He did some stuff on ASK, and didn't get credit or royalties for his work.

Did he actually he win the case, though? That's the first I've heard of that. Wouldn't that mean that he'd be credited on Ask (when no CD of mine shows that).

I'm sure I read somewhere that he won some kind of settlement. It's not unusual in these cases for a condition of the settlement to be that the plaintiff renounces any future rights or claims of ownership to the work in question. Maybe that's why he's not getting a writing credit on album sleeves. Or it could just be that the album covers haven't been reprinted in the meantime!

Anyway, Ask sounds like he may well have had a hand in it - it's pretty pants really, isn't it? <!--emo&:P--><!--endemo-->
