well,

i don't usually create introduction threads for myself at forums, but i'll make this an exception. i've been meaning to sign up here for a while now, but the username 'Ryan' was taken (which i use everywhere) and i ended up putting it off. anyhow, ringleader of the tormentors is imminent (i've been a good consumer and downloaded nothing but you have killed me thus far) and i'll no doubt need a place to discuss the new record... so, here i am.

to quickly sum myself up / explain my interest in the band: i'm a huge fan of the cure, got introduced to the smiths by a friend, then branched out to morrissey solo and have (just about) purchased the entire discography of smiths/morrissey "official" items. my latest goal is to acquire all the necessary singles (i have forgiven jesus parts 1 & 2, sweet and tender hooligan, etc) in order to own every b-side they have released, but i'm currently in a crapload of debt for 19 promo cds i bought by the band tool, so i've had to put that idea off for the time being. (can't say i don't support the artist!)

to conclude, favorite smiths track = a rush and a push and the land is ours; favorite morrissey track = i'm not sorry.

*begins mingling*

Hello Ryan, and welcome. Assuming you're a Bogey fan, what are your favourite films of his?

incidentally, what happened to the forum over the last couple of days? was it hacked?

Ryan, have you seen In A Lonely Place? I thoroughly recommend it if you havent; his greatest performance to my mind.

Hmm, a New York band called the Smithereens released a song of the same title in the mid 80s. Complete with dialogue from the movie in the lyrics! So it's not just Morrissey who does it!

Humphrey Bogart once told James Dean "Quit trying to steal my slob look". He also said that id he sold cut up T-Shirts with his name on them he could make a fortune. (Closes Hollywood Costumers book)
A note upon his desk
"P.S. Bring Me Home And Have Me!"
Leather elbows on a tweed coat
-Oh!-
Is THAT the best you can do ?
So came his reply :
"But on the desk is where I want you!"
