A brief introduction to myself...

I am a 24 year old native Belgian, currently based in Northern Ireland.

I discovered the Smiths not very long ago but got quite addicted in a short time, reading and listening as much as I can to fully discover the band. My main attraction pole are Morrissey's lyrics, in which I recognise pretty much of my own sentiments. The Smiths are one of the few intelligent bands out there, who use their abilities to create something that requires a functioning brain to understand, and that's a haven of enlightment in these times where modern music is in decay and reduced to a cheap consumption product. I have Asperger Syndrome myself and consider some Smiths songs (mostly How Soon Is Now) to be a sort of Aspie anthem, as the sentiments expressed in the song are very recognisable to lot of us 'Aspergians'.

I am also a huge fan of Echo & The Bunnymen (probably well known to most Smiths fans) and, as my username indicates, Bauhaus.

I see you've already made yourself at home around the forum, do stay for tea :D

Can I ask, what are 'Aspergians'?

Dear me, sorry...I missed that bit of the first post.

I think I have Asperger's but I guess I shouldn't say that at least until a doctor agrees with me.

"Aspergian" and "Aspie" are somewhat mockingly intended terms for someone who has Asperger Syndrome.

I prefer saying that I have Aspergers, not that I suffer from it. "suffering from" almost makes it sound like a deadly disease and makes it sound like a true handicap, which is something I tend to disagree with.
