Fantastically wonderful little toy.

I think you will all love my picture of a band:

<a href='http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?i84cvtegrlw' target='_blank'>http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?i84cvtegrlw</a>

It was meant to be The Smiths, but, errm, it isn't.

One more...

Hows about this for a band name?

<a href='http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?i84dys164u68' target='_blank'>http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?i84dys164u68</a>

I quite like it, and it's pretty distinctive, if slightly crude.

Well, above is just one idea, others include The Utensils, The Bar Stewards and The Sulky Young. On my insistence we will be called something starting with 'The...' as is tradition thaht all the world's very finest bands do so.

Tricky one. As far as I'm aware Morrissey has never said directly. Apparently its for several reasons, the main one being it was short - in contrast to the bands around at the time. I presume by that he means ELO and OMD, that sort of thing. But as for why The Smiths, I don't really know, and I'm just waffling. Do you?

Yeh, that was mentioned in Songs That Saved Your Life as one possible reason.

Mr. Simon Goddard.

He is not in my good books at the moment. Despite promises to the contrary, no copy of the 2nd edition has been forthcoming.

Looking through the album I got today, he wrote the foreword to that (Seamonsters - The Wedding Present). He also writes for UNCUT magazine on and off.

It's a song by song analysis of every song recorded by them. Very interesting, and useful for reference as well. I'm sure the second edition is better, but I don't have it.

I don't have the Severed Alliance, but I take it it's not great then?

In that case I don't want to read it then, I guess. God, it's late. I always get drawn into late night conversations. Night.

Indeed I am. I didn't wake up until 2.30 today, so that's my excuse. We really should have more posters on here you know. It's getting like our own conversation board.

Yeah, no complaints really. Well actually there are loads of complaints, but that's not for here. I was thinking of sending out a mass email to all the members in order to remind those who never posted,, but really had nothing to say, so I didn't. Maybe once we reach the magical 100 mark.

Forty four out of eighty two. Easily over half the members, most of whom joined out of their own free will. And as for them reading it, they can do that without registering. I really shouldn't write about it, it winds me up for some reason.

I decree today that life is simply taking and not giving
England is mine, it owes me a living
But ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
Oh, ask me why and I'll spit in your eye
But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore
No, we cannot cling to those dreams
Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno...
Under the iron bridge we kissed
And although I ended up with sore lips
It just wasn't like the old days anymore
No, it wasn't like those days
Am I still ill...?
