Birthday Nightmare

Ooze the knife, slowly into my side,
run back home now that you’ll leave me behind.
Confectionary in your pocket,
dinner for two nights.

Kicked out and in the face.
The clock reads quarter past 8.

Sorry, thought this might help me sleep. I'm scared to sleep incase I get killed this time around.
You're gonna kill me, is that your plan?

A couple of recent efforts

Dark is the night

Eye-like stars suspended like kites,
Buoys in deep ocean, beacons of hope
Watching human’s ceaseless progress
Among small dots of matchead streetlights

Though dark is the night
Thoughts are phoenixes
Roused from the ashes
Of the dying day

Tinderbox mind ablaze!

Ideas we weave, loves we cherish
Cancerous hates, black abstract fears
Gnawing worries, likes which perish,
Icarus’ to suns of yearn

Sun is the only God to rise
Bringing light to insomnia depths
Skulking shadows roam the glazed dusk
Dead the night, on lives opaque thoughts,
Reminders of life’s epic struggle,
How man belongs, how it goes on

and

7/7

On that July the sixth
All was still, all was calm
London wins the olympics,
spoke the radio through the balm

To those untouchable shires
Land, scarred by tractor's tyres
the bales, the farmer's fires
England. In every field and tree
What a good day to be free

As the heat stripped away
from towns industry made
A perfect moon ended the day
watching where the dragon was slayed
Above the lives and cosy homes,
the church spires and mosque domes

The melting pot still bubbled
English life went on untroubled
in the throes of summer's height
(fervent like a belief's light)
day surely gave way to night
and turned like a new season
then an act without reason

Another slow day until
Big Ben's hands of time stood still
Thame's silver blood ran ice cold
Chelsea pensioners shivered
Lush Hyde park leaves withered
Bow bell's eerie death knoll tolled
calling all over the world

From tight streets of Northern grit
Mill chimneys, pennine turret
Yorkshire accent deep and thick
bouncing off wall's of orange brick
of terrace simple and thin
England shirt and sari billowed
under fluffy cloud pillowed

four murderous martyr's struck
fellow human live's were took
justified by no man or God
nor written in holy book
In London on seven, seven
Between Britain and heaven
Fragile peace was shattered

The British flag wasn't tattered
trampled into the ancient mud.
Instead flowered the small bud
of hope, like it candles burn
bright, poignant, marking the loss
stand's firm the Saint George's cross
And so it will forever

Born with a Gun against My Head - (Through a basic knowledge of guitar, I wrote something around this)

Born with a gun against my head,
the barrel pointed east and my face turned west,
Is that god on some kind of quest?
I met a girl and she never lays rest,
I told that fucker he can do his best.

Met my baby at the tick of 3,
all her friends point their fingers at me,
although she turns me on at no degree,
I still take her out and buy her tea.

She draws me hearts, why can’t she see -
that I only like her moderately?
I’d leave at the top of a 1,2,3,
But that fucker has it in for me.

The Occured Incident

Anytime you feel obliged to send me all your money,
here’s an envelope, stamped and addressed,
my impatience is not funny.

Did you send it quick? Because I feel sick,
so very sick with worry,
which now deceased postman has ran off with my money?!

So I take a walk down, to the road, where a red letterbox does sleep,
and found a ripped and torn-up envelope just lying there in the street,
I decided to get the bits, and put them back to-gether piece by piece,
and as I suspected from the start it was add-ressed to my keep!

So I gets my mother on the phone, to tell her of my grief,
and that all I got from all of this was paper lying on the street!

But after spending days in bed, and feeling ill,
I’d pieced together what would only be my fucking telephone bill,
and who would know, my letterbox flapped open with a squeak,
and I finally got my money, after waiting a bloody week!

The Crutch

Ask a blind man what he sees, and see what he says,
you won’t hear a deaf man’s song, travel through the waves,
give an addict exactly what he craves,
take away Superman’s cape, and see who he saves.

I think I’m on to something, don’t take away my love,
she’s all that really matters now, I must keep it up.

Outside the ground is freezing, but it’s just heating up,
I saw her with another, my feet firmly stuck,
ripping away from the ice, I finally caught up,
she admitted to using me, and that’s my luck.

I thought I was on to something, you took away my love,
it doesn’t really matter now, I’ve found another crutch,
pass over the needle, my eyes are crusting up.

Her

Eat me up, now that you could,
see me stuck, in a hole so small,
drag me out, I’m down the hall,
hear me shout and heed the call.

You’re an enormous drain on my energy,
and you feel that you can give it all back to me,
when all you do is make me unable,
to get it back and make me stable.

Two CAN Be as Bad as One

I chose to walk the earth with you,
you held my hand and decided to come too,
We were down the road, not even out of town
half way there you stopped to slow down.

Although what we put ourselves through, lasted only a moment,
You show no scars and I somehow condone this,
I wiped my eyes with a now drenched tissue,
you showed no feeling and I just wish you’d,
tell me how you feel so I can some how relate,
although now it doesn’t matter, I still sit and wait.

A letter of abuse, is all that it takes,
if that’s how you felt, just give me a break,
I tried and I tried but the icing on the cake,
is that I feel I should forgive you and start a clean slate.

Why should I bow down to your views so bleak?
My blood boils and whistles and I just can’t sleep,
tossing and turning on my own this bed so cold,
while you’re all tucked in glad to be alone.

Take my “love from time to time”, get it through your head,
that if that’s what you’d prefer, I’d rather be on my own instead,
if you can’t see what it’s like for me,
why should I take in your vow so weak?

The desperation and grinding of teeth,
the levels of weakness I’m so willing to steep,
how dare you try and use me like sheep,
”gather up now and in to your keep”.

I’m quite relaxed now and I sometimes dream, of what it would’ve been about,
you’d demand and I’d scream, you’d storm out and I’d shout,
I throw this glass at the wall, think of you and smile,
you’ll be on your own for a very long while.

I never chose to walk the earth, I just needed some company,
but I’m better off alone, and you really don’t deserve me,
you’ll toss and you’ll turn and dream of me fondly,
but your expectations are too high, I’m the one you won’t touch.

First draft of a stanza. I forgot the volta and was one stanza too short, also there are some pretty crummy lines, but I like where it is heading.

About A collection of poetry and prose I am doing about difficult human communication for my writing unit and Uni.

Awkward phrases and our hated false starts
Contain more truth, reveal impulsive hearts.
For in these words there lies a nakedness.
For in these lies the words are not censored.

Although meaning may not be quickly known
Believe in that purpose runs through; It flows.
Perhaps a love that died consumes your mind,
Maybe a test that you have failed wont hide.

Study your slips, and ease into their world.
Fluent in slips, stutters and their bold crimes
Embrace mistakes, make friends with clumsy words.
Though not pretty, their worth exceeds their curse.

It is not altruism

Waking is affirmation,
Is blank realisation
As the sun thrusts through clouds
Above a pirouette earth
Living transcends theory
So bury philosophy
And staring at a darkness
Which lies thicker than a mood
Feelings rise, breathing to life
Oxygenated, true
In a swift whim I recall
Depression is a cold gun,
And that all who pulled in haste
Just did not rationalise

Wrote this drunk with pernod yesterday coming home:

Irony brings us down

When I first met you on a misty morning
Your cascading velvet hair
Was soaking wet with desire for loving and being loved
While my eyes were blinded by the hatred I spread
And someday you told me that
You never loved me
And I said that it was okay
I told you that I’ve always loved you
And you
You just laughed and shook your head.

attended English lit today

The golden light spilt
from the cup of sky
It threaded clouds gilt

All undiminshed
I pulled curtains
and got dressed quickly

Ouside a mood formed
shadows duelled, backdropped
by drifting spectres

silver-plated sky
wept tears of diamonds
swiftly, one-by-one

Outside embraced me
with birdsong concert,
amplified silence

I wandered schoolward
today, Englsih lit
then the grey doom loomed

That night suspended
a flimsy mauve dusk,
as if airbrushed on

'ROMANTICISM
discuss' said the scrawl
platinum moon watched

as I pondered, dumb
'I don't know much sir,
I wrote honestly

'other than simply
to live is precious',
on breeze swept midnight

As if to confirm,
a bat hooted from
unseen, untouched dark

sorry, and this

Out of town

Where factory machines gnash
Churning consumerables
Slaves, paid by oil, these robots
Cogs in the working-class engine,

Fortress-like mill-towns sit on sills,
These provincial labyrinths
Mazed by endless barracks lain
To form the postcode mural

It’s liberation from the stifle
To find urban greets rural
Scarecrows swap shat-on statues,
Stood Lonely on stubbled plain

Far as the eye cannot see
Stretches the yielding land
Crafted by plough, farmers hand
And juggernaut harvesters

Stillness is chasm-deep here
It lies sprawled open, unshared
Where veined brooks rage to oceans,
Gnats dance, unnatural dust

Here with person-like shadow
Is optimism of summer
Joy gushes forth, a geyser
To feeling’s mirage surface,

A drifting bugle wanders,
The rhythm to tinkling breeze
One thinks of long-dethroned kings
Not tweed-clad toff, feudal still

Dwarfed by pretentious grandeur,
Long-thought, energy races
And in my boots morsals of
England remain unchallenged

-UNTITLED-

He grabbed his wife by her neck and threw her to the floor,
she said after that he blacked out “it wasn’t him at all!”
He woke up in a puddle of his own, pleading “forgive me please”,
her bags were packed and she was leaving, he slammed the broken door.

She clutched her tissue and looked to see if she was late,
the taxi arrived at the airport “That’s £3.68.”,
she passed £5, he kept the change, and drove off with a smile,
she sat down for a cigarette, and waited for a while.

He sat at home, with his eyes spinning ‘round, clutching a bottle of vodka,
he drank and she pulled, she breathed out as he fell, he then put his head in his hands,
he cleaned up the glass and rang for a cab, “A taxi as quick as you can.”,
the taxi driver, clutching his fiver, came quick and picked up the man.

The taxi driver recognised the house, he remembered what it looked like,
the tanned brick front with the gnome outside “I think I just picked up your wife.”,
the man jumped into the front, “Where did you take her mate?”,
”The airport, she boards in just a few minutes, I’ll step on it so we are not late.”

She had boarded the plane as they pulled up,
the man still ran but there was no luck, the taxi driver sat outside with his fiver,
the man came back crying, “Well, what do you think driver?”
the taxi remarked on his past, his wife and his kids that had left and all that,
the taxi driver asked “What would’ve done if we had turned up?”,
”I’d have grabbed her by throat and finished the job”, the driver pulled off.

Took a good friends advice and tried it out.
You're gonna kill me, is that your plan?
